On November 14, 2011 Annishika Smith was the driver of a motor vehicle which was struck in the drivers side door by a school bus which was owned by the School Board of Clay County and operated by an employee of the School District.  As a result of the accident Ms. Smith was injured in her shoulder and low back. Her physicians opine that her injury is permanent.  Her unpaid medical bills are $16,269.00.  Settlement was reached at mediation by agreement between Board chair Carol Studdard, Dr. George Copeland and Bruce Bickner.  Total settlement for all claims is $15,000.00.
